30 Hours Famine 2011

I survived 30 Hours Famine!!

To be honest, it was not really difficult.  I thought I would be half dead during the last few hours but no, I think I could fast for 10 hours more. xD

I went to Uniten camp with some of my high school friends, it's been sooo long since I last talked to them! Especially Suet Ying. I thought she didn't like me and didn't wanna talk to me anymore. But during the 30 hours, we talked non stop! Suet Ying, if you are reading this, I wanna tell you that WE HAVEN'T FINISHED TALKING!

I am glad that I joined the event, made so many new friends there, they are all fun and friendly people. Besides that, I got to see some friends who I hadn't seen for quite a while.

The thing I enjoyed most besides the count down in Bukit Jalil is when Ryan Foo Joe performed in Uniten. Homg, he is sooooo cute! I wish he sang more songs though. :(

Pictures of the mini concert
And a video of Ryan's ending too!!

Rapper. I can't remember his name.

Xiao Pang, I can't remember his name, but he sings well! Like!
RYAN FOO JOE!

The night in Uniten was really torturing. We were settled in a hall with fans to sleep. They didn't want to use the air conditioned hall because they wanted it to be more challenging. Hungry mosquitoes were swarming around me and Suet Ying throughout the night. I zipped myself in my sleeping bag and I was sweating like mad, cursing at the mosquitoes. At some point of time, I couldn't stand the heat and unzipped my sleeping bag and then go back into my sleeping bag again when the mosquitoes started to drive me insane. Both of us are mosquitoes magnets so it was not surprising to see red spots all over our bodies the next morning.

The count down ends with Ah Niu's performance

As I said just now, fasting for 30 hours isn't that hard, so it didn't really hit me how needy those people who are suffering from poverty are. Nonetheless I felt a sense of blissfulness when it was time to break fast, it felt so good to have something in my mouth after fasting for so long. When I was eating my Twiggies after they announced it's time to break fast, I suddenly thought of the starving children in Africa. I felt so happy when I finally got to eat after fasting for 30 hours, I wonder how happy they would feel if they were the one who got the food after starving for days.

They must be really grateful and touched to know that there are people out there who care for them.

I really hope these people get more attention from the society. It's so heart-breaking to see those people suffer from poverty when at the other side of the world there are people who are reveling in their wealth and luxury.

Sephora KLCC Grand Opening + Haul

Yup, I am finally not having exams and am having a break. And yup, I was there in Sephora KLCC for their grand opening! I was so excited that Sephora is finally in Malaysia. Crashing Sephora was one of the things I put in my after-exam-to-do-list, I am so glad I did.

Before I went there, I was expecting some crazy discount but there wasn't anything like that. They had makeovers, manicures, smokey eye workshop, etc. The event lasted for the whole day but unfortunately I had to rush to my friend's birthday party so I only had time to buy some cosmetics.

Sephora is like a supermarket for cosmetics, heaven for me! I walked around in the shop and could still even find something fascinating after I checked out and was gonna walk out from the shop. I have to say that the stuff there are not cheap. But as the saying goes, cheap things not good, good things not cheap, so I think it is worth it.

Lip stuff

Body stuff
Bath stuff
Eye stuff

These are not all. Imagine, Make Up For Ever, Dior, Clinique, Lancome, Calvin Klein, Urban Decay, Smashbox, and all the famous makeup brands are in there, I can't just walk around every counter to take a picture of it.

Picture Wall

The opening starts at 11am. The emcee for is a beautiful lady, and she is really good at hyping up the atmosphere. There are also a few male models there, giving out candies and samples. I have to admit that I really like those models, they are smoking hot.

Clinique Sweet 17 Makeoever Party

It was my first time attending Clinique Sweet 17 Makeover Party. If you asked me if it was worth going, I would say 'DEFINITELY!'

I really really like the setting. So pretty!
Natasha and me
Liang the host. He is hilarious.
I went there without any makeup on. Okay, that's a lie, BARELY any makeup on. :)
The event started of with an ice breaker game. We were separated into groups and we had to make a dress out of newspapers.

The model from my group
We didn't win the competition, but it's okay. I had fun taping, stapling, cutting, and folding. :)
After that we had two speakers from Clinique on the stage to teach us about skincare and makeup.

Speakers from Clinique
After all very informative talks, we finally got to move to our respective stations. We moved from station to station according to our group. Nat and I were in the Greeen group. Our first station was the accessory station where we had Sze Accessories to teach us how to make our own accessories.

Green ribbon = Group Green

Nat's and my corsages, guess which one is mine.
Second station: Food station!! We had buffet lunch. The food there was okayy, would be better if it was still warm.

While waiting for the next station, which was the Clinique station, we went to the 'photobooth'. Dang, we hadn't had our makeup and hair done. :(

Station 3: Clinique station
There we cleansed our face, got rid of our makeup, though we barely had any, and then we started doing our makeup. To be honest, I don't really like Clinique's cosmetics but their skincare products are very good.
Tadaa! Makeup done.

So next station...
Station 4: Acut Above hair station

Acut Above
I think I don't have to elaborate more on this. Basically we just..got our hair done.

This is how I look after the hairdo. I still prefer straight hair. :( I look a bit like my mom like this.
Now we were all pretty, guess what's next. A talk about sex. :) By these two young people.

I got 3 Ferrero Rochers for answering a question about cervix. Lol.. I know my body well. :)

After talk, it was time to move our body! We had someone from the Celebrity Fitness to teach us the Gee dance. IT. WAS. SO. FUN! Haha.. Didn't get to take a picture of the people dancing, cause I was dancing too!

So that was pretty much all. We went to collect our goodie bags and lucky draw prizes, and left the place to shop around Sunway Giza.

The Library Soft Launch

Shaky camera, I know.. I hate my camera in low light conditions

As I said in one of my previous posts, I would attend the Library's soft launch. And there I was on the day before my Statistics paper. It was soooo crowded that night, people were standing even outside of the bar with their free beers. The free flow started at 8pm. We wanted to go at around 7.30pm, knowing that it would be packed with people, but due to some problem, we left home late and ended up standing too. I saw a few new bouncers that night, eyeing on the people like hawks. Cool, big hawks. ;)

The main reason I went there was to see my friend's performance. Let me introduce him to all of you. His name is Megat and is an awesome beatboxer. I didn't say that just because he is my friend, he is indeed a very talented beatboxer.

Went there with Ryan and Xue Jen

We ran into our friends Joel and Chin Aun there. And from them, we got to know a few of their friends, who are really funny. We took pictures before we left to eat 'tong sui'.
