Welcome Chester the Poodle!

I had always wanted a puppy, or a kitten, but I never asked my parents to get me one because I thought I'd only get it when I am financially independent so that my parents won't need to worry about taking care of another baby at home.

On the other hand, my 6-year-old sister had been demanding for a poodle since she was 4 or 5. She was really persistent, my parents finally gave in and said yes.

So yesterday, my sister and I followed my uncle (who will be sponsoring all the expenses this baby needs) to the breeder's place. One the way there, I asked my sister what she wanted to name the puppy and she said John. I was like 'What? John? Why John?' My uncle suggested the name Zombie, haha.. And then she said 'Hmm.. I think we should name him Chester.' The first thing that came into my mind was my friend's sister's boyfriend whose name is also Chester! Haha. The next time I see Chester, the boyfriend, I would think of Chester, the Poodle!

When we reached the breeder's place, I thought I would be able to give my opinion on which puppy to take home, but I found out that my uncle had already brought my sister to this place and had chosen which puppy to bring home a few months ago. My uncle and sister actually had a plan! So we waited for Chester to finish his last dinner with his sibling and then we picked him up and brought him home.

Name: Chester
D.O.B: 29-3-2011 (this is not the exact d.o.b though)
Breed: Toy Poodle
Gender: Male
Colour: Cream
Loves: To sleep and shit and pee and cry
Hates: To be kept in a crate

Chester has been behaving okay so far, he is undergoing housetraining and potty training. As it is still a baby, it sleeps 90% of the time. I can't wait for him to grow up and start playing with me.

PS: This is my first time dealing with a poodle. Do you have a poodle? Any fun experience with your poodle you would like to share? Drop a comment below!

Chinese New Year

On the second day of Chinese New Year, my family and I went back to my dad's hometown, which is in Temerloh, Pahang. We used to spend Chinese New Year there before my grandparents passed away. Now, the house is pretty much empty. I miss how my grandfather sat on his favorite rocking chair with a cigarette in between his fingers. He passed away when I was.. I can't remember. 14? As for my grandmother, she passed away when I was 7. I vaguely remember how she fought cancer towards the end of her life. I wish I had the chance to get to know her better.

The blackboard my brother and I used to scribble on.

Wall of memories.

Found this in a drawer in the living room. I wonder how long it has been sitting in the drawer.

I was so surprised to see my baby photo in my grandparents' room. I didn't know they would actually frame it up and put it by their bed. I also found a wedding photo of my grandparents. I always think it is a very sweet thing to be able to grow old with someone whom you love very much.

When they were young and loving.

This is a wooden shop. It used to be one of my favorite places to hang out with my brother when we go back for Chinese New Year because it sold fire crackers and all kinds of candies and ice lollies! :D I still remember the old lady's face every time my brother and I walked into her shop. So serene, so lovely. It was not open the day I went there. I am not sure why though. It could be because it's Chinese New Year, or maybe the old lady's not here anymore, maybe she is somewhere in this world where my grandparents are right now.

Every second day of Chinese New Year, a lion dance troupe goes house to house to perform and collect red packets around the new village. This was one of my favorite times during Chinese New Year because I love lion dance. I haven't seen even one this year. :(

Now I am back to college after quite a long break. It is gonna be a super hectic month for me and the rest of the Student Council. We are busy preparing for the Orientation Ball that is around the corner. After the ball, a new council will take over and I will have focus on my studies already. It's my last semester. I have to do well.

The Dusun

Vampire attack!

My family goes on a vacation pretty much every time my dad comes back from India. This holiday, we went to The Dusun, which is located near Seremban. It was a memorable one. :)

Day 1: Steamboat dinner

It was already evening when we arrived there. Went to the pool with my siblings for a while. After we came back from the swimming pool, we had steamboat dinner in our 'house' and went up to sleep. I was tired and fell asleep quickly with a firefly flickering around in my room. How beautiful! :)

Day 2: Jungle trekking, waterfall, small talks on the deck in front of the sunset, barbecue dinner.

Early in the morning, after our breakfast, we went into the jungle with an orang asli as our guide. I have always been a person who loves to be close to the nature, so I really had fun. And I got my first ever leech bite near my waist. Had some on my legs too, but those were kinda small. Unlike me, my sis hates the jungle, she was disgusted my the soil, annoyed by the leaves, horrified by the leeches. Haha! It was amusing to see her shriek when she found a giant leech in her shoe.

Spent some time at the waterfall before we headed back for lunch. Took a nap. In the evening, my family and I sat on the deck and had some small talks. Took a lot of pictures but none of them have me inside because I was the camera person. :(

Those sexy legs at the corner of the picture are mine. :)

Soon after the sun set, we had barbecue dinner. This is my favorite time of the vacation because I got to show off some of the skills I acquired from all the camps I have been to. We didn't have fire starter, so I started the fire with cotton and cooking oil. Smart heh? :P

My sis didn't know there was a moth on her shirt when I took this picture. Omg, you should see how she screamed when she saw it. Haha..

On the last day, day 3, we just had our breakfast and checked out from our 'house' in the afternoon. Oh, mind you, it was not a resort or whatsoever, it is a house owned by a couple from New Zealand. I dream to own a house like this too, but not in the forest, but by the beach. :) I am now finally home. Tired from the car ride. It is Christmas tomorrow, I already have my plans, how about you?

Fashion Glam + Mother's Day

I went for a photo shoot last Sunday. It has been a really long time since I went for my last photo shoot. My aunt spent more than RM300 in Sunway Pyramid and that's how I got to enter this Fashion Glam Cover Girl thing. It was a loads of fun! :) But I gotta admit that I'm very bad in posing, haha.. As you can see in the video, I look like a giant standing beside the two ladies, a wooden giant. My stubborn hair couldn't stay in its place, the hairstylist had to come over and do some touch up. The photographer looked kinda pissed. Well, not my fault. Blame my hair, or the hairstylist.

Makeover and hairdo before the photo shoot

It was Mother's Day. I treated my mum a fish spa after the photo shoot. I don't think those fish has done any good to my feet, they just made me feel super ticklish!! Imagine the whole bunch of fish kissing your feet! Fish are stupid.

I was feeling to ticklish to stay still
